LAHORE – January 3, 2026 –The Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME) was honored to welcome back its former students and colleagues during the university-wide UET Alumni Reunion.

Before joining the central festivities at the University Auditorium, MME alumni first gathered at their home department to reconnect with their roots. The department was buzzing with energy as graduates from the intake sessions of the 1960s met with recent pass-outs, creating a beautiful bridge between the department’s storied past and its vibrant future.

The day’s highlights included:

  • A Warm Welcome: Alumni from all sessions visited the department first, where they were received with great warmth by current faculty and staff.

  • Reflections in the Chairman’s Office: Former colleagues gathered in the Chairman’s Office to share memories, discuss the evolution of the field, and reflect on their professional journeys since leaving UET.

  • Generational Networking: The event provided a unique space for the pioneers of the 60s to mentor and interact with the newest members of our engineering community.

It was a privilege to host such a distinguished group of professionals. These reunions serve as a powerful reminder that while our graduates go on to achieve great things globally, they always have a home here at the MME Department.
